Eddie Izzard, also known as Suzy Izzard, is a British stand-up comedian, actor, and activist. Her comedic style is known to be a form of surrealist comedy. She is also an accomplished actor, having starred in many movies, including Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen, Valkyrie, and Victoria & Abdul.

Being an actor and comedian wasn’t always in Eddie Izzard’s plan. As a teen, she went to the University of Sheffield to pursue a degree in Accounting. A year later, she decided she would pursue a career as a performer. She began performing in the streets – where people would stop in their tracks just to watch her stand up. She soon realized her talent could bring her somewhere. And the rest is history.

With over 4 decades of experience as an entertainer, this woman is a veteran in stand-up comedy. She has been on EIGHT live tours, entertaining people from all over the world! Her stand-up shows typically consist of self-referential pantomime and rambling whimsical monologues. She is an insanely talented woman who can depict all the emotions in a realistic – and funny – way!

She has received two Primetime Emmy Awards for her past tour, Dress to Kill. She has also been nominated for a Tony Award for her Broadway performance in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Fun fact: Eddie Izzard is an activist who does everything she can to support the causes she believes in. In 2009, she ran 43 marathons in 51 days to show her support for Sport Relief. In 2016, she ran 27 marathons in 27 days to honor the late Nelson Mandela.
