Chelsea Handler was born in Livingston, New Jersey, on February 25, 1975, to a Jewish father and Mormon mother. At the 'oh so' young age of 19, she moved away from her home town to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She'd live with her aunt in Bel Air and work as a waitress to help support herself. During that time, she had to attend a driving under the influence class, where she told a story about getting arrested. Her audience loved it, and it was the eureka moment that gave her the confidence to pursue a career in stand-up.
Her breakthrough came in 2002–2005 on the Oxygen Network's reality show Girls Behaving Badly. The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice, My Wife and Kids, and Weekends at D.L. were just a few of the many popular TV shows on which she would eventually appear as a guest star. This would help mold her into the incredible, successful person she is today.
She made several attempts at hosting before landing a gig on E! as the host of the "Chelsea Handler Show," which aired for two seasons during 2006–2007. Later on that same network, her new show, "Chelsea Lately," a half-hour comedy series, took her into the stratosphere with a huge half-million viewers. The show ran for seven strong years, earning her the title of the only female talk show host during that time.
In 2020, on HBO Max comedy, she had her own special called "Evolution," which earned her a Grammy nomination. By 2021, she embarked on a tour called " Vaccinated and Horny," and then in 2022, she followed that up with the critically acclaimed special, Revolution, on streaming giant Netflix.
In addition, she has penned several books, five of which became "New York Times Best-Sellers." Writing is a passion of hers, and she has two columns in Cosmo and NOW. TIME put her on their TIME 100 list, and Galmour gave her the coveted title of "Woman of the Year." She has done it all, but there are still no signs of her slowing down.
Her career is very interesting and filled with so many different stories, and with Chelsea's ability to tell the stories in the most hilarious manner, you can expect this tour to be a massive success. All the fans are going to be there, and you have to as well. Grab your tickets right here and now before they sell out.
