Hamilton at Orpheum Theatre San Francisco

Making its first appearance in in 2015 and running for almost a decade, Hamilton took Broadway by storm with its revolutionary approach. From Ron Chernow’s book about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s humble beginnings and journey to one of the Founding Fathers of Northern America. A unique story that is both founded in truth and political, Hamilton has been hailed as revolutionary in its storytelling that has left its mark on politics, culture, and our youth.

It was created by American composer and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film. He went on to create the music and lyrics for previous Broadway play called "In the Heights", another Tony award-winning showcase. Miranda is also the creator of music and lyrics in many high profile musical films such as Moana. The hit musical, featuring a ethinically diverse cast, is set to a score that combines new genres like hip hop, jazz, R&B, which has made Hamilton all the more innovative and exciting by bringing these genres to the Broadway stage. Broadway hits such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have been considered as top-rated memorable songs from the production since its Broadway debut. Lin-Manuel Miranda has attributed his music inspiration for Hamilton to become top rap and hip hop rappers of USA, finding a way to unite the different genres together in an unprecedented manner! The showtunes of Hamilton is praised hugely by California critics alike, compared to other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton proves to be more fast-paced and engaging than many.

Hamilton has since gone on to achieve a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and 16 Tony nominations, Olivier Awards, Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special mention from the Kennedy Center Honors. To date, Hamilton has achieved global acclaim as it continues its worldwide tour, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is coming to you this winter in Orpheum Theatre, the premier theater for the arts in San Francisco, where previous shows have proved to be successful. Tickets for the Sunday 15th December 2024 show are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a limited time in Orpheum Theatre during December.
