Almost a decade ago, on February 17, 2015, history was created as Hamilton debuted Off-Broadway at the Public Theater in New York City. It was this grand opening that was so well-received, which became a Broadway opening by August. Since then, Hamilton has been running not only in America, but in several locations around the world.

Hamilton builds on its success as it goes on a limited season in San Francisco in November at Orpheum Theatre, typically well known for showcasing the world’s most excellent plays and musicals.

Hamilton, the story of Alexander Hamilton himself, a U.S. Founding Fathers, has continued to empower many theater-goers all around the USA. The popularity of this Broadway musical from its birth started to explode bigger and larger especially following the 2016 Tony Awards, where Hamilton was able to win 11 out of 16 nominations and cemented its place in Broadway and beyond. It also proved to be enjoyable to a wider audience due to the fact that this show specifically opts to features genres highly relevant in popular culture, such as hip-hop, jazz, and R&B, while being made from a very diverse cast for each showing. Its catchy score and musical recording have become even more widespread due to its publication outside the musical itself on digital platforms.

Hamiltons reach only continued to grow from here as Hamilton has gone on to show in various states across the United States, and show in several locations across the globe including Canada, the hugely-respected West End in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, and Abu Dhabi. Its worldwide fame continued as it also became a digital version in 2020 that became available to stream on Disney+.

Every location that Hamilton visits, though the actors and production crew may differ, it maintains diversity that ensures various racial and ethnic backgrounds for each cast member, one of the accolades that Hamilton is famous for. The musicals modern message continues to resonate with viewers, and San Francisco is no different as fans can expect an excellent performance from an exceptional cast.
